TORONTO, October 1, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Jibestream, the premier indoor mapping platform provider, is pleased to announce that they have been named a “Cool Vendor” by global research and advisory firm, Gartner, in the 2018 Cool Vendors in Location Services for Wayfinding report. The report profiles disruptive vendors with products and services that leverage innovative technologies to reduce the complexity of large indoor spaces by providing wayfinding and location aware solutions.
Gartner analysts Tim Zimmerman and Annette Zimmermann preface the report by noting that “getting lost indoors is a waste of time and resources. Many hospitals, malls, airports or any enterprise campus can be large, complex and difficult to navigate. Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) leaders must use the innovative technologies and applications from wayfinding vendors to lead end users to their destination.”
The report highlights Jibestream’s robust ecosystem and integration capabilities, noting the platform’s ability to integrate with third-party data sources and present them on a map to grant visual access to geospatial data. Zimmermann also notes Jibestream’s ability to present personalized map views with a single map instance by hiding or revealing parts of a map based on the type of user.
“It’s an honor to be named by Gartner as a ‘Cool Vendor’," said Jibestream CEO Chris Wiegand. “Our passion is helping enterprise organizations solve their challenges by leveraging technology to integrate business data with indoor maps. It’s very rewarding to know that the work we do plays a pivotal role in addressing the ever-changing needs and challenges in an emerging market.”
Gartner's definition of a “Cool Vendor” is a company offering a technology or service that is innovative enabling users to do things they couldn't do before, that is impactful in that it has or will have a business impact, not just technology for its own sake, and is intriguing, in that it caught their attention during the past six months.
